Class Discussion on Artificial Intelligence (25.2.26)
Economics Association of PCM S.D College for women organized an insightful classroom awareness session on the topic "Artificial Intelligence in Everyday Life" in collaboration with the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC). The session was conducted in Room No. 50, with the objective of creating awareness among students about the growing importance and applications of Artificial Intelligence in modern society. The session was presented by Savita student of BSC Sem VI, who effectively explained the concept and significance of Artificial Intelligence in today's Digital Age.
The presenter discussed the evolution of human civilization from the Industrial Age to the Digital Age and highlighted how Al has become an integral part of daily life. During the session, the student elaborated on Artificial Intelligence as a branch of computer science that enables machines to think, learn, and make decisions like humans. Various practical examples were discussed including Al applications in education, healthcare, transportation, communication, and entertainment tools such as Google Maps, voice assistants, face recognition systems, and online recommendation platforms were explained to make the topic more relatable and understandable. The session also addressed both the advantages and challenges of Al, including efficiency, time-saving benefits, job displacement, and privacy concerns. The presentation was interactive, and students actively participated by asking questions and sharing their views, making the session engaging and informative. In total of 25 students of B.A., B.Sc. Economics and M.Com. attended the session. This session proved to be highly productive, promoting unity, enthusiasm, and a sense of responsibility among the students. Dr. Divya Budhia, members of IIC and other faculty members encouraged students to actively participate in departmental activities for overall personality development.
