Department of economics was established in the year 1974 and since then it has been imparting high moral values and quality education to its pupils according to the benchmarks set by the revered founders of the college. As economy is the backbone of any country, so keeping in mind the importance of the subject, we aim to impart in-depth and relevant knowledge of the subject and make learning environment dynamic by regularly updating academic and physical resources. Departmental has a dedicated library, book-bank for economically weaker students and computer laboratory with projector facility to promote extensive use of computing technology among students and make them future-ready. Faculty ensures effective content delivery through energetic class-room interaction and activities involving group discussions, presentations, etc. and modern digital modes of teaching and learning. Economics Association, a student-body, is framed every year to instill the art of teamwork, managerial skills and sense of responsibility in students. It organizes educational trips, workshops and various in-house competitions like declamation, power point presentation, etc. to boost soft-skills and confidence among pupils. Students at post-graduate level are also given practical training in the software 'Statistical Package for Social Sciences' (SPSS) and in making research projects to enhance their employability. As a result of our untiring efforts, we have a plethora of alumnae placed at good positions in various fields.
