Economics Association Organizes Fiery Debate
Economics Association of PCM S.D College for Women, Jalandhar, organized a Debate Competition. It was hosted by the Post Graduate Department of Economics. The topic of the debate was "Balanced vs. Unbalanced Growth: Which Path is Better for Developing Countries?" The session was marked by fervent enthusiasm and a lively exchange of ideas.
The faculty members of the Department lauded the students’
dedication, noting the depth of research and the clarity of thought
demonstrated throughout the competition. The event not only honed the
participants’ analytical and public speaking skills but also encouraged them to
engage critically with complex economic issues.
A total of seven students
from B.A., B.Sc. (Economics), and B.A. B.Ed. participated with great
enthusiasm. The debaters demonstrated a deep understanding of the topic,
presenting well-rounded arguments. Arpita, Chandni, and Supreet from B.Sc.
(Economics) Semester V, along with Mamta from B.A. Semester V, argued in favor
of balanced growth, while Prachi and Amisha from B.A. B.Ed. Semester V, and
Sapna from B.A. Semester V, advocated for unbalanced growth. The faculty
members of the department appreciated the hard work and dedication of all the
participants, commending them for delivering an informative and dynamic
debating session.
