Interaction with Newcomers (8.8.26)
Economics Association of the College organised an Interaction with the first-year students of the Economics Department in Room No. 42 at 1:40 p.m. to warmly welcome the new students and familiarise them with the department and its activities. The faculty members welcomed the students to the new academic session. The first-year students also introduced themselves and shared their hobbies, interests, and areas of inclination. This interactive session helped create a friendly and comfortable environment among the students and faculty.
The students were briefed about the activities planned by the Economics Association for the upcoming academic session. They were informed about various academic and co-curricular activities such as quizzes, poster-making, declamation, presentations, seminars, and awareness activities. The importance of active participation in departmental activities was also highlighted. The students were also informed about the selection of office bearers of the Association and the responsibilities associated with different positions. Students were encouraged to take initiative and develop their leadership, communication, teamwork, and organisational skills. The interaction helped the first-year students feel more comfortable and connected with the department. The programme also encouraged students to maintain a balance between academics and co-curricular activities. The students showed keen interest and enthusiasm towards the activities planned for the session. Overall, the induction programme successfully created a sense of belonging, interaction, and enthusiasm among the new students.
