National Webinar on "Sustainable Consumption" on 5.4.23

P.G. Department of Economics of Prem Chand Markanda S. D. College for Women, Jalandhar organized National Webinar on “Sustainable Consumption”. Dr. K. Vinodha Devi, Head, Department of Economics, Kristu Jayanti college (Autonomous), Bengaluru was the resource person for the webinar. 

She started with an impressive introduction of the concept and explained the reasons which make it necessary in contemporary times. The resource person underlined the need for developing countries to stop imitating developed countries in their consumption habits in order to save their resources for present as well as future generations. She also highlighted the concept of ‘Holistic Approach’ to achieve the objective of sustainable economic growth. In the end, Mrs. Divya Budhia Gupta, Head, P. G. Department of Economics, extended vote of thanks to the resource person and the participants. Around eighty participants, comprising students and faculty members of various institutions attended the webinar. President Shri Naresh Kumar Budhia Ji, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada Ji, other honorable members of the Management and worthy Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar congratulated the department on success of the event.
